How do I start in the wedding photography field?

Question by Opk: How do I start in the wedding photography field?

I shoot mostly nature and landscapes and I have no portraits in my portfolio, but I would like to try shooting a wedding. How do I get into this? Maybe I could offer to be a second shooter for a lower end but established wedding photographer in the area?
Also, I am shy and uncomfortable with people having fun at parties.

I would recommend maybe taking a few classes and building a portfolio that consists of portraits and full body photos.

Q&A: Where should my fiance and his groomsmen get their tux?

Question by *muah* X3: Where should my fiance and his groomsmen get their tux?

The obvious place is Men’s Warehouse but their selection is limited. Any other places that offer good selection with multiple locations/pickup. His groomsmen are all over the country. He wants his groomsmen to go to their local branch, have their measurement taken, then pickup the tuxes.

Do you buy a present as if it were an actual wedding? Is there a registry list like an actual wedding?

The purpose of wedding gifts is to help a new couple out with things they don’t have yet. I would think they don’t need a gift. Maybe something small if you want to make a nice gesture.

Question by They call me mommy. [♥♥♥]: How to tell my cousin I don’t want to be a bridesmaid?

My cousin asked me to be a bridesmaid in her upcoming wedding…I just had a baby and my life is super busy..I don’t know if I could take the time to do it. I also don’t like majority of the wedding party (her other 3 bridesmaids are very snobby and opinionated; and have been critizing everything about her wedding). How do I tell her this nicely and without hurting her feelings too much?

Hon, you’ve just had a baby. You’ve got the perfect excuse. You spent hours in agony pushing the darling out of you, there’s got to be some benefit to having the kid (Haha)!

Just a thought though – the cows who are the other bridesmaids – do you reckon the bride would appreciate your support, if they’re being all annoying?

Q&A: Does anyone know where I could find an amazing but not to pricey tailor for bridesmaid dresses in Calgary?

Question by alternatelove: Does anyone know where I could find an amazing but not to pricey tailor for bridesmaid dresses in Calgary?

Some of my bridesmaid dresses need to be taken in and others need to have material added in the back because they don’t do up becasue it’s a zipper.
I would appreciate as much help as I could get with this, thank you so so so much in advance!!

Do a yahoo search. But I would leave the responsiblity for the dress to fit to each individual bridesmaid. You should not have to worry about this, nor should you have to pay for the alterations. I live in Chicago and just had a bridesmaid’s dress taken in and shortened. Cost me .00.

Question by nick_lee.rm: Do the bride and groom’s wedding rings have to be the same weight and thickness?

I think that the wedding rings have to match, plain, same metal, but I don’t know if they have to be the same weight and thickness, or if the bride’s should be thinner and lighter, what is usually done?
