Everyone, man or woman, has an image in their head of the perfect proposal. Guys see themselves shouting it from the biggest billboards in the city, in the middle of the biggest sports event of the season, maybe even on your favorite TV show. The women, simply see hope that the man of their dreams will declare their love, drop down on one knee and ask her to marry him. After which she says yes, they kiss and voila! It’s time to get ready for the wedding.

Creating perfect wedding proposals does call for a little planning and forethought (others call for a lot of planning). It is quite easy for something to go, well not exactly wrong but off the planned track, and make the event not quite how you hoped it would be. Here are some examples of funny happenings at wedding proposals.

AJ had arranged to have dinner with his intended bride at his favorite restaurant. He placed the ring in the folds of the napkin she’d be using so that she’d find it shortly after she sat down. Unfortunately, she pulled the folds open too fast, and the ring flew out and rolled away. AJ had all the waiters and guests suddenly looking under their tables for the tiny golden ring. Quite a sight with everyone suddenly below deck, so to speak. The ring was found, the proposal made and she did say yes….laughing all the time.

Sam on the other hand planned a romantic dinner for two. He had everything ready, or so he thought. He had carefully placed the ring her champagne flute so that he could ask her to make a toast, then propose. He didn’t expect that she would knock back her drink so fast and almost swallowed the solitaire. Take note: a glass is never a safe place to put the ring in.

Philip and Lisa met in a charity event held in the park over a year ago. He decided to propose to her on the same spot where they met. Everything was going well. He was all set. He got down on one knee and just as he was about to ask her to marry him…the rain came pouring down. It didn’t stop her from saying yes though they did end up soggy from the rain.

Greg knew his girlfriend Cindy was absolutely crazy about these Russian matryoshka nesting dolls. He’d purchased one that she said she really liked and lay out a trail through their house for her to follow. He’d placed the largest piece about two steps from the doorway with a note asking Cindy to find the next doll. She managed to find all but the last piece he’d set up. Inside it was the engagement ring. The only problem was, the halves got stuck and Cindy couldn’t get the ring out. It took a while, but yes they managed to get the ring on Cindy’s finger and they now have very happy memories associated with the dolls.

In order to avoid these funny scenes, just keep it simple. The ladies will appreciate a simple, heartfelt proposal without the razzmatazz just as much. They’ll still say yes if you’re the one they want and you get to avoid a potentially embarrassing and funny moment.

What should you do if your the Best Man in a Wedding? Well here are some basic guidelines to follow.

Pre-Wedding
Are you from out of town? If so you may need to take care of your own lodging and transportation. You could also pay for your own tux. Because of the logistics of getting the tux with the groom. However, if you are in a close proximity to the groom then you should be the one to handle the tuxedos! This includes going to the rental shop to pick them up and also distributing them to the wedding party. And don’t forget your responsibility involved with the Bachelor Party. Show the groom a good time, but not too good a time.

Wedding Day
Here are the quick tips to remember

Take care of the groom. Help get him dressed. Nothing like a tie that won’t tie.

Get thos last minute errands done. The groom will always forget something.

You have a counterpart in the wedding party, the maid of honor can be your best friend.

If its a large wedding but not a large wedding party, lend a hand with the ushering.

Don’t forget the ring. Its your single most important job!

Wedding Reception
The groom may give you money or payments to pay the minister, organist or others assorted with services. If there is a wedding coordinator they may take on this role.
The best man may be asked to drive the wedding party to the reception site.
Sign that marriage license!

At the reception stay close to the groom until after the receiving line. You arent required to be in the line. However, the groom may still have something to be taken care of. After the reception collect all the tuxedos and return them to the rental shop. And if need be help with the cleanup of the reception site.

Author: Susan Jones

1. Research

Unless you’re a spontaneous, spur of the moment person, research
is essential in order to have a great Las Vegas wedding,
including setting the wedding date.

Yes, you could hop on a plane at the last minute, fly to Vegas
and turn up at the chapel of your choice only to find out that:

A. You need a marriage licence from the Marriage Bureau, Las
Vegas, Nevada which is located at 200 S. 3rd Street, 1st floor
Las Vegas, NV 89155-1603 (cost at time of writing was $55)
before you can get married in Las Vegas.

B. The chapel is booked solid, even when you return with a
marriage license. Then you’re roaming Las Vegas wedding chapels,
trying to find one that can marry you.

2. How To Get There

You also need to research how you’ll get to Las Vegas. Plane,
train, car or bus? If you decide to fly, you’ll need to check
airfares with the different airlines to find the best deal.

3. Venue

When you were doing your research, you probably came up with an
idea of what sort of wedding you wanted. For example, you can be
married by an Elvis impersonator, get married in medieval
costume at Excalibur or opt for a traditional ceremony in an
elegant wedding chapel.

Once you’ve decided on your wedding theme and researched wedding
chapels, it’s a good idea to book the chapel of your choice as
soon as possible, in order to avoid disappointment.

4. Reception.

To reception or not to reception? Instead of having a
traditional reception you could have a memorable wedding meal at
a top restaurant in Las Vegas, depending on how many will be in
your wedding party. Or if it’s just the two of you, you could
dine a deux with room service in your honeymoon suite.

5. Your Wedding Night and Honeymoon

Now that you know where and when you’re getting married, it’s
<!-- D(["mb","time to book the wedding night and or honeymoon. It\'s easy to
research the casino hotels online by visiting their websites or
reading messages on Las Vegas forums to find a hotel that
appeals to you. Once you find your hotel, it\'s a good idea to
make your reservations as soon as possible.

6. Wedding Attire

It\'s time to decide on your outfit for your Las Vegas wedding.
You\'ve already decided what sort of ceremony you\'ve having,
which will help to narrow your choice of outfit. If you don\'t
want to pack your wedding gown into a suitcase you could always
rent or buy a wedding gown in Las Vegas. Just make sure you do
your research first before you arrive in Las Vegas.

7. Invitations

Before sending out your invitations you should have completed
the above six steps: deciding on a wedding date and type of
wedding, mode of transport to Las Vegas, booking a wedding
chapel, deciding on what sort of reception you\'ll be having if
any, reservations for your wedding night/honeymoon and planning
your wedding attire.

Now it\'s time to invite your family/friends to your Las Vegas
wedding. Unless you just want it to be the two of you - how
romantic!
